"I must admit that I was somewhat apprehensive at first, as the business model is based upon EMTS bouncing the pricing you negotiate against a variety of national data bases for comparison purposes, then re-engaging the supplier if additional savings is available. Materials Management staff naturally feel threatened by this initially. However, once "pride" is set aside, they truly provide a great value in providing savings that would have otherwise been unattainable. It is virtually risk-free. EMTS does not bill any fees unless they are able to negotiate savings above and beyond what you are able to do on you own. Even when the pricing you negotiate is not improved by EMTS, it serves as a great litmus test to gauge you and your staff by on a national basis. In addition, the business model provides hospitals with limited negotiating resources with some much needed leverage to deal with giant manufacturers. I would highly recommend them to anyone!"
